Lately, I’ve noticed my students’ violins fall

Lately, I’ve noticed my students’ violins falling towards the floor. It often happens when they’re so focused on the sheet music that they forget about posture. It also happens a lot during virtual lessons - laziness around posture is one of the biggest challenges I’m fighting!

To remind them, I tell them to keep their violins parallel with the floor or to my younger students I say, “Let’s keep our tables (violin) nice and flat, so our dinner plates don’t fall off!”

Fun fact: Minuet No. 2 is credited to Bach, though there is some debate over this statement (could be Petzold?). It was supposedly found in his notebooks (filled with music!) addressed to his wife and children in hopes that they would all enjoy playing them on piano. As such, this piece was originally written for piano/harpsichord/organ.
